"SweetPotato from Wageningen is a traditional Chinese music group of semi-professional and professional musicians. After several years performing Chinese folk songs on different occasions in the Netherlands, Shuhang Wang initiated this music group in 2013. The name of the group comes from the “Sweet Potato Porridge''- a typical Chinese family cuisine - served for dinner at the first gathering of the group.

SweetPotato aims to introduce live traditional Chinese music to Dutch and international environments. Using traditional Chinese instruments - guzheng, er-hu, dizi (bamboo flute), pipa, sheng, hulusi, qin, bawu, together with piano and vocal, musicians perform in the forms of solo, duet, trio, quartet and ensemble."
